What encouragement. I made Lisa smile. Sounds like a little thing, but I like that. I'll try and keep posting now and I'll endeavor to be as interesting and smile-inducing as I can be. No matter how much it hurts...

Picked up some blog hints from Mudville Gazette and put them in place. I learned a bit about tracking visitors and the first thing I see is that someone from Baltimore County Schools looked at this blog. Assuming that reading this didn't put you off of reading blogs for the remainder of your life, greetings from the next county (the very red one) to your west.

And Lilly reports that she bungie jumped, but wouldn't consider jumping with a parachute (or, apparently, doing another bungie jump). Funny, I don't mind parachutes so much, but have never seriously considered bungie jumping. Considering that she was able to bungie jump even once, I suspect Lilly has a bigger pair than I do...

And now I'm off to do a bit more reminiscing about Ft. Devens. And trust me, the Wagon Wheel will figure prominantly...

LOL, please, I'm a girl and definitely a chicken for most things... but I was younger, and I'd just aced my physical chemistry final. I normally went dancing, and then slept 50 hours straight after finals week. Instead, I went and jumped off a damn bridge.
If you've never considered bungee jumping I'd say you're way smarter than I:-)

Mr. Snake Eater, I'm glad I could encourage you! I really needed something to make me smile that day and you obliged me... :^)

lilly - We used to go up on top of the dorm and scream during finals, but I don't think I ever thought of jumping. lol

Please don't call me Mr. Snake Eater. SGT Snake Eater at worst. Jim works pretty well, too.

Lisa- We'd go up to the roof, but mostly to get drunk without the girl's dean catching us :) I did book the bungee trip while, um, under the influence, and then was too stubborn to back out. How bad could it be, right? I've since given up my beloved Heinekens along with caffeine :-)

Nice to meet you, Jim.

We were living on Whidbey Island, WA, in 1990 when Reebok made a commercial with the Kockelman brothers bungee jumping off of the Deception Pass Bridge (between Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands). They jumped together -- one stayed in his shoes and one didn't. The tag line was something about Reebok Pumps fitting better. The commercial only stayed on the air about 3 wks -- the official word cited viewer complaints, but I heard it was due to people trying to duplicate the jump.

It was a great commercial.
